Payroll Specialist

The Payroll Specialist will have the overall responsibility of ensuring the accurate processing and recording of payroll information and provide accurate, timely financial information.

Responsibilities of the Payroll Specialist:

  • Perform daily payroll department operations
  • Reconcile payroll prior to processing and validate confirmed reports
  • Process accurate and timely year-end reporting when necessary (W-2, W-2c, etc.)
  • Maintain and manage Workday timesheets portal
  • Review hours submitted through Workday Timesheets
  • Prepare reports related to payroll and benefits
  • Reconciliation of payroll, 401(k) and other benefits
  • Assist with 401(k) audits

Basic Qualifications of the Payroll Specialist:

  • 2-4 years' experience processing multi-state payroll
  • Proven proficiency in Excel
  • Demonstrated attention to detail and problem solving approach when troubleshooting

Preferred Qualifications of the Payroll Specialist:

  • Associate's degree in Business or Accounting
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Possess good business acumen
  • Experience using payroll systems (Workday a plus)
  • Fast learner and willing to take on new challenges
  • Possesses strong multi-tasking abilities and is detail oriented
  • Thrives in a team environment
  • Strong organizational skills are a must
