The Compliance Tax Coordinator will be part of the Global Tax organization and will be responsible for the management of all tax information required to enable the US Compliance team based in New York, as well as the Center of Excellence team based in India, to deliver on day-to-day activities. In addition, the position will also support the US tax advisory function. This position is an excellent entry level role for an aspiring finance professional who is seeking to learn and grow their skills for future career growth opportunities.

How will you make an impact in this role?

  • Management of all tax information requests needed for return and quarterly tax calculations.
  • Management of Income tax notices
  • Process, report, and reconcile all income tax payments
  • Responsible for Amex tax return mailings and all associated documentation.
  • Responsible for reporting of quarterly SOX inventory listing and assurance that files are compliant
  • Management of tax residency certificates
  • Responsible for maintaining the tax transaction logs
  • Liaison with third party service providers for AmEx annual report filings as well as Personal Property tax
  • Assist with entity tax classification applications
  • Management of the compliance tax calendar
  • Review and redistribute incoming tax electronic correspondence to appropriate internal parties
  • Prepare onboarding documentation such as IRS Forms W-8, W-9, and tax residence certifications
  • Liaise with tax authority representatives regarding information reporting-related notices
  • Obtain tax return transcripts and reconcile transcripts against tax returns
  • Management of legal entity tracker
  • Attend tax advisory meetings and take notes as required
  • Assist in ad hoc project support as required for both teams or across Global Tax

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting/Finance
  • Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrates commitment to quality and accuracy
  • Comfortable proposing new ideas that can create efficiencies
  • Works well in a changing environment and with tight deadlines
  • Team Player who is able to collaborate well and foster working relationships
  • Possess desire to learn new skills

Salary Range: $55,000.00 to $105,000.00 annually + bonus + benefits
