The Role:
Amazon Pre-Owned Kindle Business team is seeking a Technical Product Manger to define and build the systems, tools and processes required to scale the pre-owned sales for Kindle products like the best-selling Amazon Echo, Amazon Tap, Kindle e-reader, Fire tablet and Fire TV product lines. The candidate should be smart, highly-motivated and a results oriented Technical Product Manger that can drive innovation and develop the systems, tools and processes required to scale this business in North America and in the growing international markets. Speed in decision making and better analytics are required to scale the pre-owned business.

As the Technical product manager you will be required to understand and leverage existing systems, tools and processes used to manage the Fresh-lot (new) Kindle sales if applicable for the pre-owned business team. Responsibilities include both on-line and offline pre-owned Kindle sales channels which include Certified Refurb, Warehouse Deals, B2B auctions and liquidation channels.

A successful candidate will have significant experience managing diverse business systems and technical challenges, and have the ability to influence and successfully drive initiatives forward. You have a strong bias toward data driven decision making, and an innate ability to understand how metrics relate to business problems and to each other. You are a product leader who has the ability to communicate priorities and work effectively with stakeholders, including teams across operations, product mgt and finance. You should be comfortable with a degree of ambiguity that can be higher than most projects and relish the idea of solving challenging problems. You will tackle novel, challenging situations every day in multiple sales regions and for different sales channels.

Key Responsibilities
Collaborate with the internal stake holders for the Kindle pre-owned business and create a strategic capability road-map of the tools, systems and processes which need to be used and or developed to advance and scale the pre-owned business.

Evaluate the existing systems and tools used across different Amazon products and sales channels and determine which ones can be leveraged to manage the pre-owned sales for Kindles.

Operate autonomously; drive programs end to end including business goals, technical solutions, legal and environmental issues.

Sees patterns; makes connections to improve project/process efficiency. Knows what solutions exist elsewhere and how they can be connected.

Improve team processes that accelerate innovation, reduce costs, and/or improve quality.

Able to prioritize complex deliverables, have highly technical discussions and run meetings with technical and business leaders.

Apply good project management skills of breaking down tasks, prioritizing tasks and simplifying the overall business process.

Use outstanding written and verbal communication skills.

Use advanced analytical and quantitative skills: use hard data and metrics to back up assumptions and evaluate outcomes

Deliver results in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment

Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science or commensurable professional experience
  • 7+ years of experience owning and driving end-to-end product requirements across multiple technology teams.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced degree in Operations Management, Engineering, Computer Science or an MBA with quantitative focus
  • Strong technical background – either software engineering or technical program management experience strongly preferred
