Since then, we have produced groundbreaking devices like Fire tablets, Fire TV and Amazon Echo. What will you help us create?

The Role:

  • Manage a team of Material Program Managers in the US that are responsible to program manage all aspects of product BOMs – readiness, cost, second sourcing
  • Collaborate with partner organizations to drive BOM and cost collaboriation
  • Manage and facilitate all aspects of BOM and CAPEX input to Amazon’s Operation Planning (OP) cycles
  • Ensure product COGS are managed and communicated accurately throughout the program
  • Drive cost reduction and/or cost avoidance activities across all cross functional teams and suppliers
  • Validate, resolve and approve xVT component unit cost & MVA (including E&O)
  • Explore every opportunity to reduce total cost on behalf of the customer
  • Analyze and influence feature-set cost tradeoffs
  • Collaborate with cross functional team members for SPOR creation and finalization. Partner with GCMs/CM/Engineering to identify/influence ownership for each commodity in the VEM template
  • Work to standardize the MPM role and help drive the MPM council

Basic Qualifications

  • 10+ years of materials and/or planning experience in a consumer market Segment Company
  • 5+ years of management of an OEM partner
  • Experience sourcing electronic components including hard to find/obsolete parts
  • Experience with MS Office and proficiency with Excel

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher level education
  • Previous management experience, preferably in a consumer market Segment Company
  • Proven ability to form and lead teams in global and/or ambiguous environment
  • Ability to influence cross functional teams
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively to senior management, peers, and team members
