Since then, we have produced groundbreaking devices like Fire tablets, Fire TV and Amazon Echo. What will you help us create?

The Role:

As a Software Development Engineer, you will be part of an experienced cross-disciplinary team designing and building innovative IoT software solutions for consumers. This hands-on position requires broad engineering competence and in-depth technical knowledge of embedded and application software development, as well as demonstrated experience successfully planning, organizing, and conducting software development projects in a dynamic environment. In this role, you will:

  • Contribute to the definition, development, integration, test, documentation, and support of custom embedded software applications and services across multiple platforms
  • Design and build cutting edge software with a small, but experienced team of engineers
  • Rapidly prototype and iterate on innovative user experiences for mobile, desktop, and other platforms in the Smart Home

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field
  • 3+ years of experience building applications for different platforms, including mobile
  • Embedded UI framework experience
  • Design and architecture knowledge and familiarity with object oriented design patterns
  • Experience shipping real products to customers

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Computer Science or related field
  • Proficiency in the tools of the trade, including a variety of modern programming languages and open-source technologies
  • IoT experience
  • Experience with evaluating and improving new developer tools and interfaces
  • Experience working in agile environment
  • Excellent judgment, organizational, and problem solving skills
  • Comfortable taking initiative and working across teams
  • Excellence in technical communication with peers, partners, and non-technical co-workers
  • Passion for prototyping and hacking together new concepts
