The Role:



The Amazon Device Tracking team is expanding! We play an integral role in tracking and protecting the intellectual property of our pre-release hardware devices. We are an energetic team of software developers, program managers, and device tracking specialists who create and manage distribution policies and systems in collaboration with other cross-functional teams at Amazon.





We need a Software Development Engineer who can move fast, is capable of breaking down and solving complex problems, and has a strong will to get things done. You’ll work with other engineers on real world problems affecting users on a global scale and influence the direction of the technology.





Your development work will focus on the service layer of our system. Individuals interested in this position should have experience in building compelling user experiences and be able to convey meaning from complex data. You will develop on a scalable platform that integrates with other systems in Amazon. The ideal candidate will have experience developing web services and a familiarity with frontend technologies.





This position is based in Sunnyvale, CA and there will be occasional travel to Seattle and international locations when needed.


Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering or related technical discipline



  • Experience in Java/Scala



  • Experience building web services


Preferred Qualifications

  • HTML/JavaScript application development
  • Past experience designing asset tracking, inventory management, or related business process tools
  • Deal well with ambiguous/undefined problems; ability to think abstractly.

  • Great communication skills; ability to effectively articulate technical challenges

  • Strong focus on testing during development
