Principal Engineering Program Manager, PMO-Training

Job Description
In this role you will be responsible for creating and maintaining Lab126’s Hardware Engineering and Program Management Training program. You will coordinate with internal and third party Subject Matter Experts to prepare university-style courses and review all content with Principal Engineers for final approval. You will be responsible for scheduling all training, reviews and course logistics. You will create, track and meet a set of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) at the individual and organizational levels. You will also be responsible for the transfer of course materials and content into Computer Based Training. You will organize face-to-face training for our Product Development Process and related Process Tools.

  • Create, Review, and Coordinate presentations for Technical Education and Training on:
* Device- and Component-level Performance
* Functional Expertise
* Engineering and Program Management Best Practices
* Product Development Process (PDP)
* Process Tools
  • Maintain the Curriculum Calendar
  • Create new certifications process for Engineers and Program Managers who complete required training
  • Transfer course content into always-available Computer Based Training
  • Lead an Amazon-wide training forum to resolve schedule conflicts and communicate best practices company-wide
  • 10% domestic travel; 5% international travel

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Computer Science or other related-Engineering degree
  • 10+ years of experience as engineering project/program manager
  • 2+ years of experience associated with professional training/coaching/development
  • Understanding of product development lifecycles
  • Familiarity with Agile and Waterfall development methodology
  • Experience with multiple concurrent projects with aggressive schedules
  • Experience communicating and presenting information to all levels including Executive team

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree Mechanical, Electrical, Computer Science or other related-Engineering degree
  • 15+ years’ experience successfully managing complex consumer electronics product programs, with large, technically-savvy, cross-functional teams
  • Product HW and SW lifecycle end-to-end management experience
  • Experience developing web-based team collaboration pages in Confluence, Sharepoint or similar
  • Experience creating Computer Based Training content
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Passion for consumer product development and training
  • Excellent organizational, analytical and problem solving skills
