Hardware Quality Engineer II

Job Description

The AWS Hardware Engineering team creates server designs for Amazon’s innovative web services. Our designs are industry-leading in frugality and operational excellence, and are critical to the success of the AWS business and the more than one million customers who use AWS today. Our Hardware Engineers solve challenging technology problems, and build architecturally sound, high-quality solutions to enable AWS to realize critical business strategies.


The ideal candidate for this role will be an innovative self-starter. You will work with engineers across the company to create and maintain a server certification framework used in the lab to keep up to date with new technologies. You will use your broad experience to develop automated testing tools, improve the triage of failures and automation execution framework to qualify the next generation of servers. Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related field

5+ years of Hardware-related QA testing experience.


Experienced in black box and gray box functional testing, and integration testing

Solid experience in development and use of test automation frameworks

Successfully engaged with ODM companies to complete server qualifications

Experience in developing tests with one or more Unix scripting languages (bash, ksh, csh, etc.) and/or other languages such as Python or Perl.

Excellent working knowledge of Linux

Ability to work in a fast paced and agile development environment
Possess excellent communication, and sharp analytical abilities

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with software version control and software development processes such as SCRUM
