Would you like to own driving the global technical strategy for Amazon Web Services (AWS) and work with the world's largest and most innovative Advertising & Marketing companies? Your primary responsibility will be defining the data strategy for AWS in the Advertising & Marketing area. You will enable the AWS teams to deeper understand customer's data needs and more effectively drive strategic projects in Advertising and Marketing industry. You will work closely with AWS Solutions Architects and AWS Professional Services teams to develop and promote cloud best-practices around data and Data Lakes, data streaming, security, privacy and regulatory compliance. You will also work closely with the AWS product and services teams to help evolve AWS offerings for more rapid adoption by Advertisers and Marketing customers.

Roles & Responsibilities:
• Together with the broader Advertising & Marketing team, develop the strategic plan for AWS, particularly the technical elements of the data strategy and plan to engage customers and partners
• Responsible for understanding the use data processing cases the Advertising & Marketing industry and developing the AWS-based technical solutions that address those needs.
• Responsible for ensuring that the broader technical community understand both the use cases and technology involved across Advertising & Marketing. Works with the Training and Sales Enablement teams to help develop the necessary technical skills and knowledge within the community, in order to help the team be effective in sales cycles.
• Responsible for establishing technical credibility with CTOs, CIOs, Chief Architects, Senior Developers, etc. from both customer and partners across the industry.
• Demonstrate thought leadership in Advertising & Marketing space, and is able to credibly represent us at industry events, conferences, symposiums, etc.
This position may be based out of any location with a local Amazon office, including but not limited to: Seattle, WA; Portland, OR; San Francisco, CA; San Jose, CA; Irvine, CA; Dallas, TX; Houston, TX; Austin, TX; Chicago, IL; Atlanta, GA; Herndon, VA; New York, NY; Boston, MA; Los Angeles, CA.

• 7-10 years of experience in senior technical leader positions within Advertising or Marketing industries
• 5+ years of experience of cloud based Data Lake/Apache Spark/Hadoop platform implementation
• 3+ years of hands-on experience in implementation and performance tuning Hadoop/Spark implementations.
• Experience with one or more relevant tools (Sqoop, Flume, Kafka, Oozie, Hue, Zookeeper, HCatalog, Solr, Avro)
• Experience with one or more SQL-on-Hadoop technology (Hive, Impala, Spark SQL, Presto)
• Experience developing software code in one or more programming languages (Java, Python, etc)
• Bachelor's degree, in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or a related field or equivalent professional or military experience


• Ability to think strategically about business, product, and technical challenges in an enterprise environment
• Masters or PhD in Computer Science, Physics, Engineering or Math
• Hands on experience leading large-scale global data warehousing and analytics projects
• Ability to collaborate effectively across organizations
• Understanding of database and analytical technologies in the industry including MPP and NoSQL databases, Data Warehouse design, BI reporting and Dashboard development
• Demonstrated industry efficiency in the fields of database, data warehousing or data sciences
• Implementing AWS services in a variety of distributed computing, enterprise environments
• Customer facing skills to represent AWS well within the customer's environment and drive discussions with senior personnel regarding trade-offs, best practices, project management and risk mitigation
• Desire and ability to interact with different levels of the organization from development to C-Level executives
• Ability to think strategically about business, product, and technical challenges in an enterprise environment
