Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to lead and continue to expand the business with one of our company's largest and most innovative customers - Amazon.com. In this role, you would support Amazon as a customer of AWS, supporting their continued adoption of native AWS Services.
The Principal Business Development Manager will be key member of the team responsible for building and maintaining a relationship with Amazon's Cloud Enablement team, building and delivering on a strategy to drive cloud awareness, education, adoption, guardrails, and architectural excellence across Amazon's disparate business units. In support of this relationship with Amazon Cloud Enablement, you will also create a conjoined strategy on the AWS side to ensure a strong working relationship with the AWS senior leadership team for executive sponsorship, executive business reviews, and shaping go-to-market opportunities.
The Business Development Manager is responsible for teaming with Amazon.com's Cloud Enablement executives, engineering, finance, security, tooling, education and communications teams. You will be responsible for creation of a strategy (the 'what' and the 'why'), identification of top priority initiatives, and creation and deliver of an annual tactical plan (the 'how') to bring that strategy to life. Skills required for this role include experience with building and delivering cloud enablement teams either from the customer or vendor perspective. Experience with either AWS or a competitive cloud offering is required. Skills required to build relationships across an account include creative thinking, articulating a clear vision and generating enthusiasm, to impact all business groups.
The Business Development Manager is responsible for solutioning at the most strategic level within the account and implementing a broad strategy for earning customer acceptance and service implementation. They work with all appropriate AWS resources (Executives, Solution Architects, Business Development, Partners, Support, Service teams and Professional Services) to support customer interests, and will understand how to strongly advocate for their customer and balance that with the business needs of AWS. This includes dotted line responsibility for downstream sales and technical resources that may be geographically distributed.

• 10+ years of enterprise tech selling or consulting experience in large global accounts
• 5+ years' experience with AWS and/or technology as a service (IaaS, SaaS, PaaS)
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication, analytical and presentation skills are required
• Experience working with a large global organization as the lead account and relationship owner
• A BA or BS degree in computer science, engineering, or related technical field experience (MBA preferred)
• Experience leading or partnering with cloud enablement teams
• Experience providing trusted advisor / consultative approach to customers
• Experience with business case development and related financial modeling
• Experience with cloud architecture recommendations and best practices
• Occasional travel may be required
