Want to help build Amazon's next generation of businesses? The Global Specialty Fulfillment team handles the most ambitious and challenging fulfillment problems. Our software helps enable Prime Now 1 hour delivery, Whole Foods delivery, Amazon Fresh delivery, and more.

Our team builds software that empower our product managers and operations managers to offer the most innovative of Amazon's services, such as scheduled delivery, temperature-controlled goods, and white glove delivery service to name a few. Supply chain, warehouse management, and delivery operations is where the magic takes place at Amazon, transforming a "buy now" click on our website into an on-time delivery and a happy customer. We do this at lightning speed, thanks to the software that you'll help us build. While Amazon is large, we operate like a start-up within Amazon, opting for smaller sprints and continuous deployments.

We're looking for a systems development manager to guide our team in creating new applications from scratch. This manager will lead the teams that design and develop new systems that allow our business to continue to scale globally and offer our customers world class service at break-neck speeds. You'll be the key technical stakeholder working with Product Managers and end-users to define world class tools.

In this role, you will:
• Manage a team of cross-disciplinary engineers.
• Recruit, hire, mentor, and coach technical staff.
• Foster career growth and a strong team culture.
• Own all operational metrics and support for your team's services.
• Instill best practices, assure designs meet requirements, and deliver high-quality work on tight schedules.
• Manage the agile process and methodology to deliver value to customers.
• Help develop long-term technology and business strategies.


• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent combination of technical education and work experience
• 4+ years of experience managing software development/Infrastructure automation/DevOps teams
• 4+ years of people management experience and good track of developing engineers
• Have strong technical knowledge in Infrastructure automation, Dev-Ops methodology, system design and architecture.
• Knowledge of Ruby, Typescript, Python or Java, object-oriented design and service-oriented architecture.
• Strong technical knowledge in building and deploying applications on Cloud
• Ability to handle multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment with minimal outside direction, while constantly advancing long term goal
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills


• Master's degree in Computer Science or related field
• Experience defining system architectures and exploring technical feasibility tradeoffs.
• Have strong technical knowledge in building web services and highly scalable applications
