Nitro is a hardware/firmware/software solution built from the ground-up to support secure virtualization at AWS scale. The Nitro Build Team owns the systems and tooling that manage low-level system firmware integration, performance, instrumentation and validation. Every single cloud instance at EC2 is built on top of the work done by this team - everything from Machine Learning oriented GPU instances, to Storage, and HPC instances. These are used to power critical workloads from startups to the Fortune 500.
If you have a passion for systems software design and engineering, then this is an opportunity to build the core of the AWS cloud. A SysDE on Nitro Build Team will work closely with Principal Engineers from HW Engineering, Firmware and EC2 data-plane and services teams to ensure low-level firmware (such as system BIOS or TPM firmware) integrates robustly with the Nitro stack. A SysDE will use C, Lua or Python, conduct software design reviews, code reviews, automated test development, deployment, and fleet monitoring.
On the Nitro Build Team we value Customer Obsession and look for engineers who understand the challenges and responsibility of supporting foundational technologies within the Nitro Stack and across the world's premiere cloud virtualization infrastructure. We're looking for engineers who show Ownership and take pride in supporting major EC2 Customers from across the tech landscape.
