We are getting ready to launch new products that will amaze and define how customers interact with us in a brick and mortar setting.
In this role:
You will encounter challenging, novel situations every day and work on them in touch with with multiple technical teams across Amazon in different locations.
You'll need to be comfortable with a degree of ambiguity that's higher than most projects and relish the idea of solving problems that, frankly, haven't been taken on at scale before. Along the way, we guarantee that you'll learn a ton, have fun and make a positive impact on millions of people.
Position Responsibilities
Drive the creation of tools that automate and streamline processes to make fleet operations more efficient. Simplify manual processes used in hardware/software provisioning and management. Respond to large scale events involving these fleets. Diagnose and fix critical software and system failures. Serve as a mentor and resource to junior engineers. Propose, drive and implement technical solutions for automation, efficiency and scalability. Partner with the software development teams to support infrastructure systems. Provide on-call support and technical consultation to Amazon internal customers.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field
• 5+ years related experience
• Experience in the following skill(s): Managing technical projects from design to release; supporting large-scale, multi-tiered, multi-threaded, distributed software applications, tools, systems, and services; programming using at least two of the following: Powershell, Python, Java, C, or C++; and troubleshooting systemic problems in a Linux/Unix as well as Windows based environments.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Master's degree in Computer Science or Engineering, 7 years of experience in system design, distributed systems.
