The Amplify team is looking for a passionate and innovative design leader to join our design team and guide our product design efforts for new services.

AWS Amplify is hiring a Senior UX Designer to lead a new initiative to address the design and development needs of front end app developers. AWS Amplify offers an end-to-end developer experience (libraries, CLI tools, docs, and more) for front-end developers building apps on AWS. AWS Amplify is used by millions of app developers to deliver rich cloud-enabled experiences by integrating a broad range of AWS services including voice & chat capabilities, machine learning, user engagement, analytics, push notifications, cloud storage, NoSQL databases, serverless business logic, and more.
You'll be responsible for driving design deliverables such as interaction models, scenarios, sketches, story boards, wireframes, user interface designs, and prototypes. You know how to balance qualitative and quantitative data to help make the best user-centered design decisions. You understand and have experience with design systems, component libraries, design tooling, and prototyping tools.
• Engage with AWS leadership to infuse business strategy with human centered design thinking.
• Use business requirements and market research to assist in developing use cases and high-level requirements
• Drive design projects through all phases, from user research and exploratory prototypes to design reviews, delivery, and usability testing.
• Collaborate and communicate effectively within cross-functional teams that span design, product, engineering, and management.
• Conduct and participate in design reviews with executives, product teams, designers, and stakeholders across the organization.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• 6+ years of design experience
• An available online portfolio

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Preferred Qualifications
• Deep knowledge of design systems, component libraries, design system tooling, and design prototyping tools.
• Experience with UX design of complex workflows for technical customers and/or experience in delivering design solutions for projects of large scope and complexity.
• Experience in best practices for information architecture and design, as well as strong knowledge of usability principles and techniques.
• Demonstrated history of acquiring user data (e.g., conducting usability studies, performing user research) and creating personas and journey maps.
• Proven ability to work cross-team and synthesize feedback and input from business leaders, product management, and engineering
• Experience with design systems and design and prototyping tooling and deploying designs rapidly at scale.
• Experience working in a collaborative, diverse team, working directly with developers for implementation of designs.
• Strong verbal communication and presentation skills.
• Bachelor or Master's degree in design, human-computer interaction (HCI), or equivalent degree.
