Sr. Training Manager – Alexa Data Services (ADS) Operations is a newly created role to develop and oversee the training process for all DAs and managers.

The Sr. Training Manager is responsible for developing the overall training curriculum for all Data Associates (DAs) including designing training material, creating the training curriculum, developing metrics and methods to assess learning, and implementing training to enable associates to reach required quality standards. The Sr. Training Manager is an active member of the on-site data center leadership team and leads the coordination and execution of DA training and leadership onboarding/development programs.

Successful candidates will have demonstrated a true hands-on approach, an understanding of instructional design practices, a data-driven, analytical mindset and a strong knowledge of data center operations. S(he) should thrive and have demonstrated success in an environment which offers ambiguously defined problems, big challenges, and quick changes.

Summary of Responsibilities:

The Learning Manager is an active member of the on-site fulfillment center leadership team and leads the coordination and execution of hourly employee training and leadership onboarding/development activities using network developed programs.

Successful candidates will have demonstrated a true hands-on approach, an understanding of instructional design practices, a data-driven, analytical mindset and a strong knowledge of manufacturing/production/ distribution operation. In addition, effective presentation and persuasion skills are a must as this role requires the ability to influence without authority.

The Learning Manager will:

  • Lead a team of training manager/s and hourly trainers including their deployment, development and productivity
  • Act as a proactive and productive liaison/partner with internal customers and the BEx Knowledge Management team by consistently seeking to make a positive impact on key business quality and productivity metrics
  • Partner with operations leaders across all areas of operations to identify training needs and schedule training events to meet quality and productivity needs
  • Develop and implement standardized training programs across all site programs and verticals
  • Manage and customize training content to meet local needs and track compliance to these training materials
  • Analyze and understand data to suggest improvements for training, quality, and operations
  • Implement industry standard and network best-practice training programs for associates, managers, trainers and others (i.e., participating in and conducting needs analysis, skills development classes, cross-training, manager technical training, etc.)
  • Drive a continuous improvement culture by coordinating and facilitating Continuous Improvement Essentials activities in partnership with operations leaders

Basic Qualifications

  • A completed Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university or 2+ years Amazon experience.
  • 5+ years of related experience
  • Experience coaching and delivering messages related to performance
  • Experience interpreting data analytics using advanced Excel strategies
  • Experience coaching and delivering messages related to performance
  • Proficiency in computer usage, email, MS Office Suite
  • Evidence of ability to prioritize, manage and complete projects with tight deadlines
  • Experience developing and implementing department goals and strategies based on broader organization goals
  • Experience working with and delivering training/information to peers, hourly associates as well as exempt personnel
  • Up to 5% Travel

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's Degree in related field
  • Experience with online learning/training
  • Resume that shows steady progression in Training/Learning Management for the last 5+ years in a leadership role
  • Ability to adapt well to fast-paced, yet ambiguous, environments with changing circumstances, direction, and strategy
