Sr Technical Program Manager, Pantry Systems

Description

Amazon Pantry is looking for an experienced Technical Program Manager to own documentation, standardization, and implementation of tools and features required to support Pantry operations, launch and expansion efforts. This individual will be responsible for taking in requests for features, building a software roadmap from the ground up, working with technical teams to find resourcing, and communicating progress to operations and retail stakeholders.

The TPM will be expected to serve as an inbound and outbound domain expert for the Pantry business, by either bringing existing fulfillment center systems expertise, or quickly developing it through interactions with operations and technology teams. The individual will facilitate configuration and testing of AFT (Amazon Fulfillment Technology) tools and related processes whenever necessary. They will develop the operations technology roadmap for Pantry. This job will include being integrally engaged with Fulfillment Center operations, as well as traveling to new sites to support immediate expansion efforts.

Program Management skills will be required to asses business opportunities and drive technical and process changes in Fresh, while consistently communicating with a broad group of stakeholders.

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Serve as a domain expert related operations tools and features, as well as implement standardization for the Pantry network.
  • Support expansion related critical configuration and testing at new site launches, and serve as the knowledge-bearer for testing if required.
  • Lead multiple cross-functional working groups at a time, to fully comprehend new features, requests, and functionality related to Pantry tools and bugs
  • Draft technical documents that describe the detailed functionality of new AFT Pantry tools, and benefits therein, working with operations, retail, safety, and other stakeholders
  • Develop solutions that create sustainable cost savings and operational waste reduction
  • Keep stakeholders involved via meeting minutes, action item tracking and bi-weekly updates
  • Periodically serve as an inbound or outbound escalation specialist for operations
  • Periodically work on a cross-business basis to support Fresh related launch and expansion efforts

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university or 3+ years Amazon experience
  • 3+ years experience in Program Management involving cross-functional projects with multiple dependencies and constraints
  • Ability to convey project status and issues to multiple levels of the organization with crystal clear clarity
  • Ability to foresee potential expansion-impeding gaps in technology
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2+ years of Amazon operations experience in the inbound, outbound, or ICQA space
  • Technical knowledge of fulfillment center systems
  • Ability to convey project status and issues to multiple levels of the organization with crystal clear clarity
  • Ability to foresee potential expansion-impeding gaps in technology
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational planning and development, business judgment, technical leadership, and communication skills
  • Strong understanding of Amazon fulfillment center systems
  • Master's degree in technology or related field
