We have an opportunity for a Technical Program Manager (TPM) in the AWS Enterprise Engineering organization, and are looking for a program leader who is ready to transform AWS's identity management landscape.

We represent the intersection of AWS technology and the need for traditional IT solutions at Amazon's scale. What you will do:
In this role, you will drive delivery for key technologies in the AWS ecosystem. You will work closely with customers across AWS providing strategic services that raise the bar for identity management, security, and integration. You will be joining a group of technology leaders that are determined to delight our customers while driving AWS forward. As a TPM, you will be responsible for driving and delivering multiple complex projects simultaneously. You will establish the overall program vision and implementation roadmap anticipating bottlenecks, mitigating risks, quantify and rationalizing tradeoffs, and balancing the business needs against technical constraints. You will provide technical leadership that gets software services built and integrated into the AWS ecosystem. You will work closely with stakeholders across various design, software and business teams to identify and drive innovative solutions that achieve business goals and align with long-term product roadmaps. You will build for a global audience, delivering secure, highly scalable, highly available services for all of your customers.

As a Technical Program Manager you will:
• Drive the program roadmap in alignment with business strategies and priorities
• Prioritize the intake and manage the backlog of requests
• Act as the technical interface between the customers, partner teams, and the software development team
• Run in front of the software development team, helping define user stories, research appropriate technical solutions, and provide guidance to the team regarding architecture, design, and priorities
• Translate feature requests into technical specifications and influence design and architectural decisions
• Apply project management and Agile methodology skills to manage scope, plan work, coordinate resource deployment on tasks, analyze risks/develop mitigation strategies and proactively identify and resolve issues
• Help make the right feature trade-offs to ship software without compromising customer experience or business relevance
• Engage with many teams across the company, evangelizing the team and your project, building relationships and helping identify existing components and technologies that can be leveraged to deliver on our goals
• Provide leadership and perspective, and drive stakeholders to decisions in ambiguous situations
• Apply continuous improvement methodologies to analyze and understand existing processes and workflows

Our ideal candidate will have a strong TPM/PM background, with demonstrated experience leading cross-organizational technical programs, and will have a deep technical background in building identity directory solutions. The candidate will possess strong written and verbal communication skills, strong project management and time management skills, and have a successful track record of delivering large-scale engineering programs. The desire and ability to work in a fast paced, collaborative environment is essential.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• 7+ years of relevant engineering experience
• 5+ years of technical program management experience
• 5+ years managing multiple parallel projects and delivering quality releases on schedule

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building sustainable processes and coordinating release schedules
• Experience with identity and permission management, directory services, and LDAP systems
• Knowledge of professional software engineering best practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to handle multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment with minimal outside direction, while constantly advancing long term goals
• Strong sense of ownership, including an ability to promote operational excellence
• Strong program and product management skills
• Deep hands-on technical expertise in building or managing identity directory solutions
• Experience with network and federated authentication protocols like Kerberos, NTLM, OIDC, & SAML
• Experience with AWS platforms, services, and design patterns
• Excels in ambiguous situations demonstrates ownership, identifies and collects the right data, analyzes trade-offs, proposes a path forward, builds consensus, and drives outcomes
• Inquisitive with technical and business skills to understand, test, and challenge assumptions to drive the team towards better outcomes
