Sr Technical Program Manager

As a Senior Technical Program Manager you drive planning, resource allocation, integration design, and coordination with partner teams for delivery of the Merch roadmap.

Key to the success of this platform are an end-to-end understanding of the overall design across a large number of teams, accurate planning, scoping, bringing the goals of diverse teams together, and excellent understanding of software design, development, testing, and deployment. Excellent communication skills and ability to communicate to highly technical engineers as well as business executives are must.

A Sr Technical Program Manager will be a key member of this team and will create and maintain a program document that tracks all projects within Merch platform, identifies all stakeholders and partners teams and receives timely status from them, and will ensure that all teams are working towards specific Merch goals.

The ideal candidate should have deep large scale software program management experience, has a strong software design background, and has the ability to dive deep in any technical issue. The candidate will interact and influence technical individuals as well senior leaders across Amazon. The candidate should be willing to take on challenging initiatives, and capable of working both independently and with others as a team.

Basic Qualifications

  • BS/MS or equivalent combination of technical education and work experience
  • 5+ years of technical program management experience and strong knowledge of software methodologies

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience managing large, complex software projects
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical individuals.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Track record for being detail-oriented with a demonstrated ability to self-motivate and follow-through on projects
  • Experience with agile or other program management methodologies
