Amazon

Sr. Software Development Engineer - Amazon Devices

2 months agoDenver, CO

CO Salary Range: USD 122,300.00 - 160,000.00 per year

DESCRIPTION

Amazon introduced the first Kindle in 2007 at that time, it offered 90,000 eBooks and sold out 5.5 hours after the announcement. Since then, we have expanded to become the best-selling e-reader family in the world. We have also produced groundbreaking devices like Fire tablets, Fire TV, and more recently Amazon Echo and Alexa, the voice service that powers Echo and other devices so customers can play music, control their smart homes, and get information, news, weather, and more, using just their voice.

Amazon Devices builds software that lives in the cloud and on-device which allows Amazon and its partners to create managed device experiences in a broad range of public environments. We work at the intersection of Alexa and Device technology, bringing them together in the form of software that allows our customers to create managed device experiences around the world. These device experiences enable demonstrations in Amazon Books, Amazon 4-star, and in major electronics retailers all over the globe, giving customers the chance to experience the magic of Alexa, as they consider making a smart home device purchase. Our devices are also featured in Amazon Fresh locations throughout the United States, where customers can walk up and ask Alexa for help finding sections of the store, items, or even recipes for their next meal. This is only the beginning, our vision is to scale our software and services, allowing a broad range of customers to create managed device experiences perfect for their customers; all in a highly automated, self-service fashion. We see a future with millions of managed device endpoints created by and running on our software.

We are seeking a highly motivated software engineer to join our team that owns the API surface that acts as the backend for all our managed devices worldwide. We also own internally and externally facing webapps used to manage our devices on a global scale. The candidate has a passion for software engineering, and can dive deep to solve hard problems, as well as an innate curiosity, that will help them innovate and scale our system for years to come.

We're reinventing the way customers experience their devices and their environments. Imagine saying, "Alexa, what can you do?", to an Echo Show installed at your favorite retail store and then being expertly guided through the all the features that device supports because it is aware of where it has been installed. Join us to deliver the future of Amazon's device innovations to customers all around the globe.
