Sr. Operations Engineer

DESCRIPTION
Amazon is seeking an Sr. Operations Engineer to support the Amazon Logistics North America (AMZL NA) Capacity Engineering team. This role will manage the network capacity of multiple last mile delivery stations and partner with operations, design, process engineering, launch, start up and sales and operations planning to build consensus for short/mid/long term network capacity. You will drive innovation in developing future of delivery operations clock to maximize the utilization of Amazon assets and deliver incremental capacity to the network with low or no additional cost. This is a high visibility role working with key senior leaders to drive decision making. We are looking for passionate hands-on leaders with experience in industrial and systems engineering in manufacturing, production or distribution environments who can effectively innovate on behalf of the customer in a fast-paced and ambiguous environment. A background in last mile operations is preferred.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent industrial background (6-Sigma Black Belts a plus)
• Minimum five (5) years of experience in a similar process development role, ideally in fast-paced industrial, logistics, distribution, last mile or production/manufacturing environment
• Demonstrated Process Engineering skills and excellent Project Management skills
• Demonstrated success in hands-on process development and improvement
• In-depth experience in Logistics, Distribution and Fulfillment processes
• Expertise in Lean Management, Six Sigma and other OE tools
• Advanced data analysis skills and an expert in using supporting tools e.g. Minitab, JMP, MS Excel, MS Access
• Knowledge and ability to use standard development tools e.g. AutoCAD, MS Visio
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• MBA, MSc or MEng (Logistics, Supply Chain, Engineering, Mathematics or equivalent)
• Certified OE Black Belt, Green Belt or Lean Sensei
• Demonstrated ability to build strong working relationships with business partners and key stakeholders and the ability to work under pressure in a cross functional organization
• High level of written, verbal and interpersonal skills
