Sr. Network Automation Engineer

The Data Center Edge Automation team's mission is to provide automated solutions which maximizes availability and resiliency of our systems. We build and own tools and services to reduce manual steps as we scale and operate the network. We are looking for an experienced Sr. SysDev Engineer who is passioned about network automation and has customer obsession in mind. You will have good knowledge of network automation, DevOps patterns, and mature CICD processes that will help build the next generation of services that enable self-healing for our systems and minimize the work required to deploy and validate the network. In this role the Sr. SysDev Engineer will be a hands-on technical lead responsible for all phases of the project development cycle. You will work with customers to gather requirements and generate technical designs, and you will carry the project from implementation all the way through validation and operations. You will use your strong leadership and communication skills to mentor other engineers and provide training and support for our technologies. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5+ year(s) developing system management / automation software in Perl, Python, Ruby, or Java.
  • Experience working with Linux/Unix environments.
  • Understanding of the building blocks of computer networks.
  • Previous experience with infrastructure automation.
  • Ability to gather customer requirements and deliver innovative solutions.
  • Ability to mentor other developers to maintain architectural vision and software quality.
  • Strong problem solving and coding skills.


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Ability to architect, design, implement, support, and evaluate tools and services with a security, scalability, and performance mindset.
  • Experience building services using AWS products.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines build processes.
  • Previous experience with infrastructure automation (e.g. automated provisioning of network devices, experience with networking technologies such as TGW, VPC or serverless technologies such as AWS Lambda).
  • Experience with software engineering best practices (code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, release and change management).
