Appstore team enables the customer and developer flywheel on devices by enabling developers to seamlessly launch and manage their apps/ in-app content on Amazon. It helps customers discover, buy and engage with these apps on Fire TV, Fire Tablets and mobile devices. The technologies we build on vary from device software, to high scale services, to efficient tools for developers.
Brief on Work:
As a Senior Software Development Manager, you will be a manager of managers and be responsible for technology teams which help innovate and build the future of Appstore.
You will lead a highly competent cross-functional team of Software Development Managers (SDMs), Quality Assurance Managers (QAM), Software Development Engineers (SDEs), Software Development Engineers in Test (SDE-T), Quality Assurance Engineers (QAEs) and Support Engineers (SEs). As a leader, you play crucial role in bringing the best practices across all of these functional areas to ensure that the software we build and the technical processes that we implement are quantifiable with respect to quality and always deliver the best for our customers.
The successful candidate will be passionate about building a great organization, obsessed with developers, relentlessly raises the bar on the quality of what we deliver, is able to manage a fast-paced delivery schedule and drive a high-level strategy, as well as take a hands-on approach to implementing that strategy.

• Responsible for the overall software development lifecycle
• Management and mentoring of key engineering and management personnel; Staffing and maintaining a best-of-class team
• Work closely with the team, partners, and senior leadership in establishing the vision, creating a strategy
• Managing and executing against plans and delivery commitments
• Management and execution against project plans and delivery commitments
• Manage the day-to-day activities of the engineering team within an Agile/Scrum environment
• Experience in partnering with product and program management teams
• 5+ years of people management experience, managing engineers
• 10+ years of relevant engineering experience
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
10+ years of industry experience in software development.
5+ years of software management experience in leading full lifecycle development
5+ years of Software development experience in C/C++, Java, Python, Ruby and Linux
5+ years of experience with large scale system architecture and design principles
• MS in Computer Science
Experience with AWS, distributed computing, and high-volume web services
Proven track record of quality software delivery
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex technical information in a clear and concise manner to a variety of audiences
Capable of thinking creatively, dealing with ambiguity, and managing changing priorities
Strong analytical and problem solving skills
Demonstrated ability to make things happen in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
A passion for people management and mentorship
