Sr. Manager, Finance

Description

Amazon seeks a Sr. Finance Manager to be a key member of the Finance Operations FP&A team. This position will be a critical business partner to the Finance Technology team. This includes, among other things, responsibility for financial metrics, reporting, forecasting and analysis. This individual will be an active member of the Finance Technology leadership team. The successful candidate will be strategic, analytical, and have the demonstrated ability to effectively manage the finances of a high-growth business.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Partner with senior business leaders as the key finance support for Finance Technology
  • Lead budget management, including creation of and regular reporting on annual operating plans and monthly risks and opportunities
  • Develop and report on financial and operations key metrics and performance indicators to measure overall business performance and to provide a foundation for continuous improvement
  • Supplement financial reviews with qualitative assessments of operational risks and opportunities
  • Drive cross-business analytic projects for senior management, with financial modeling, data mining and presentation support
  • Analyze new business ideas, make analytical judgments, and provide data intensive analyses to drive meaningful change and to grow the business
  • Create a "learn by doing" environment by engaging with the finance operations teams to promote and encourage continued customer focus
  • Provide direction and mentoring to team members
  • Work with accounting team to drive the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process

Basic Qualifications

  • 8+ years of relevant finance experience with increasing levels of responsibility
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business or related field

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong track record of business partnership
  • Strong financial acumen including experience with budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including written and oral communication skills
  • Strong track record of team leadership experience, including managing remote team members
  • Experience performing financial and ad hoc analyses using advanced Excel functionality and providing recommendations based on results to senior management for strategic decision-making
  • The ability to self-motivate in a fast-paced and rapidly-changing environment with competing deadlines
  • Strong track record of managing deliverables from multiple parties to meet challenging deadlines
  • Comfort with ambiguity and a willingness to work with a high degree of autonomy
  • P&L and Capex management and/or analysis experience
  • Advanced Excel modeling & analytical skills
  • MBA preferred; CPA/CFA a plus
