Sr. Financial Analyst

DESCRIPTION
Amazon seeks an entrepreneurial, analytical, and highly motivated Sr. Financial Analyst with a passion to dive into large-scale data sets to surface insights and create infrastructure solutions. This role will be a member of the North America Customer Fulfillment (NACF) Reporting team and partner directly with Finance teams supporting Fulfillment Centers.
The NACF Reporting team will own a key stake in the Network's centralization effort and deliver a reporting structure for Variable Cost, Fixed Cost, and Operational metrics. Responsibilities will include:
• Capture functional requirements for report requests from various NACF field teams
• Translate requirements to build data visualization reports and tools for self-service consumption of data (via SQL, Power BI, Quicksight, Excel)
• Extract relevant information from large amounts of both structured and unstructured data to automate and optimize key processes
• Work cross regionally and with Field FP&A to ensure any central, network standard reports meet the business requirements of their region
• Partner with data engineering teams to improve data assets, quality, insights, and request additional enhancements when needed
• Use SQL to analyze and validate data to ensure high data quality and reliable metrics
• Conduct UAT on reports to ensure user needs are met in end product
• Create documentation and training for reporting/products to enable a more self-service learning environment
• Ability to travel up to 25% within the US
This role requires an individual who is willing to work in an ambiguous environment and make a big impact across the NACF network. It is also a highly visible position as it involves working closely with senior leadership. The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to balance excellent analytical and technical skills with sound business judgment and effective communication to all levels of the organization.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
• BA/BS degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Engineering and/or similar discipline with analytical bias
• 5+ years experience in positions that require analysis and reporting financial results
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• MBA and/ or Professional certification (CPA/CMA/Qualified Accounting certificate) + relevant experience
• Ability to communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical customers
• Advanced proficiency in Excel (VBA, array functions, etc.)
• Proficiency with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (i.e. SQL, MSAccess, Essbase and/or Cognos) and other financial systems (i.e. Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards), providing solutions based on results of ad hoc analyses to senior management for strategic decision-making
• Experience in Power BI, QuickSight, or other similar visualization tools
• Advanced experience demonstrating problem solving and root cause analysis
• Highly analytical, detail oriented and strong business sense; proven ability to manage new ideas and creative solutions and demonstrated experience managing such mechanisms to an end result
• Ability to manage tight deadlines, prioritize workload and achieve effective results in a fast-paced, dynamic, ever-growing and often ambiguous environment
• Previous experience within a Manufacturing, Distribution Center or Logistics processes and systems
