Are you interested in creating Think Big solutions to increase selection for Kindle customers?

The Kindle Content team is looking for a strong Business Analyst with broad technical skills to help grow our Kindle selection and business. This person will be responsible for analyzing large amounts of data from multiple sources and building business cases to drive selection growth in the US and other markets around the world. This is high visibility role that directly influences customer experience.

The ideal candidate works effectively in a cross-functional environment and is comfortable communicating with both technical and business stakeholders. This person uses data to guide decision-making, has strong business judgement, and can think creatively about new opportunities.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Serve as a key member of the Content Acquisition team in helping to define and deliver strategy around acquisition and growth programs.
  • Execute against aggressive selection, operational, and business metrics.
  • Leverage data analysis to research difficult or ambiguous problems, and communicate recommendations to senior leadership.

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of relevant experience required.
  • Advanced knowledge of SQL.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
  • Bachelor's degree in a finance, technical, business, or analytical field (mathematics, CS, engineering, statistics, economics or related field).
  • Proven analytical thinking, leadership, problem solving, project management skills, attention to detail, and organizational skills.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of scripting for automation (Python, Perl, or Ruby).
  • Experience executing on basic database engineering (designing tables and ETL tasks).
  • Experience working with SAS, R or similar statistical packages.
  • Familiarity with the consumer internet industry in a professional context.
  • Consulting, finance, banking or prior experience in a problem solving or analytical role preferred.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills with ability to balance competing priorities.
  • Proven analytical thinking, leadership, problem solving, project management skills, attention to detail, and organizational skills.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
