DESCRIPTION
Amazon is seeking an innovative, results-oriented, customer-centric Senior BD Manager. The role requires driving business growth through new opportunities, while also managing and optimizing opportunities with existing business partners. The ideal incumbent should be able to strategically identify new growth opportunities across existing and new vectors to drive Amazon's Consumer portfolio.
This position will be responsible for developing and managing complex and high-impact partnership deals spanning across Amazon's consumer business in the e-commerce and digital fields. In this role, you will leverage your strong commercial and business development skills, and your understanding of e-commerce, marketing, and technology to develop and grow innovative partnerships. This position will also be responsible for assisting growth in customer engagement as part of the programs developed with partners, both in deal origination and structuring and in post-deal analysis and implementation.
This role will be highly visible at senior levels of Amazon both in Japan and the US. You will work closely with executives of partner companies to develop strategies that expand partners' business, grow the partnership, and identify additional opportunities to delight the customers.
Key Responsibilities include:
• Identify and execute of complex deals spanning Amazon business units, with a focus on Amazon Prime;
• Manage senior-level relations with Amazon's partner companies;
• Define performance measures and manage deals to hit targets;
• Lead cross-functional teams to manage initiatives associated with the partner companies;
• Support other Amazon business development teams to develop a unified vision to our partners;
• Identify additional opportunities within existing partnerships to create additional value for JP Customers
• Develop a strategic understanding of existing Amazon business units such as Prime, Video, Kindle, Music, and Echo/Alexa to innovate and develop value-added partnerships on behalf of our customers.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
• A Bachelor's degree is required, Master's / MBA preferred; position requires strong all-around commercial skills;
• Verbal and written communication skills in Japanese and English
• Passion for big challenges
• 5+ years of work experience in business development and BD management in relevant industries such as mobile, high-tech, and Internet
• Demonstrated ability to manage partnerships with large Japanese companies, including engaging with C-level executives
• Strong presentation skills and the ability to articulate complex concepts to cross functional audiences
• Strong bias for action: Ability to juggle multiple priorities and make things happen in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
• Strong analytical and quantitative skills: ability to use hard data and metrics to back up assumptions
• High level of independence, flexibility, and ability to handle ambiguity
• Attention to details and proven ability to manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneously
• Willingness to roll up your sleeves and do what is necessary
• Experience working in a global matrix organization
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• MBA or other Master's Degree from a top program
• Experience in driving marketing deals with large corporations
