Solutions Architect - Sustainability

We are looking for an exceptional Solutions Architect to join our Environmental Data team within the Worldwide Sustainability organization. This role will work across teams including Facilities, Procurement, Accounts Payable, Finance, Transportation, Tax, Legal, and third-party vendors, to map all operational data pertaining to Amazon's global environmental footprint. This person will play a key part in turning big data into sustainability insights and innovations.

This role will work with business owners across the company to understand product requirements, and to build systems to gather, structure, and analyze the relevant data. Candidates should have a proven track record of designing, delivering, and operating scalable, low-cost data aggregation and analytics solutions. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong business acumen, have excellent communication skills, an ability to work effectively across teams, and will thrive working in a fast-paced and dynamic professional environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Support development of product vision, strategy, business plans, and metrics
  • Identify appropriate use of AWS architectural best practices
  • Design and deploy scalable, secure, and fault tolerant systems on AWS
  • Collaborate closely with stakeholders throughout Amazon to obtain buy-in for product initiatives
  • Analyze and act on business metrics to enable improvements in Amazon's core operations

Basic Qualifications

  • Experience coding in Java, Python, Node.js or another popular programming language on large projects
  • 3+ years of experience developing and deploying solutions on AWS applications
  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically about business, product, and technical challenges

Preferred Qualifications

  • Hadoop/Hive and SQL expertise to access and transform data into insights
  • Considerable experience using BI reporting tools (QuickSight, Tableau, Kibana,etc.)
  • Experience coding in Java, Python, Node.js or another popular programming language on large projects
  • 3+ years of customer-facing experience, preferably interfacing with senior technical roles at large companies
  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically about business, product, and technical challenges
