Software Development Manager - Scout Simulation & Graphics

Seattle, WA

DESCRIPTION

Do you want to help lead Amazon's efforts to create fully immersive 3D simulations for autonomous delivery robots? Come be a part of our team in Amazon Scout!

We're at the forefront of using simulation in robotics. Amazon Scout is an autonomous robot designed to deliver packages to customers. It's the size of a small cooler and rolls along sidewalks at a walking pace, safely and intelligently moving through neighborhoods to make deliveries to our customers.

We're building a real-time 3D simulation, including state of the art rendering techniques, simulated physics, and simulated sensors. Our simulator runs on developers' desktops and does parallelized simulated deliveries in the cloud. Complex scenarios are authored with our tools, to simulate the complexity of real life and ensure Scout can safely navigate around obstacles while making deliveries. We use our simulations to accelerate autonomy learning and development.
