Software Development Manager - Amazon Rds

3+ months agoRedmond, WA

DESCRIPTION

Amazon Relational Database Service (Amazon RDS) makes it easy to set up, operate, and scale a relational database in the cloud. It provides cost-efficient and resizable capacity while automating time-consuming administration tasks such as hardware provisioning, database setup, patching and backups. It frees you to focus on your applications so you can give them the fast performance, high availability, security and compatibility they need.

The Amazon RDS team is looking for a Software Development Manager to lead the RDS Networking team to innovate new low-latency and high-throughput networking features for both internal and external customers on a massive distributed system architecture that supports one of the largest managed database fleets on the planet.

This space is on an accelerated trajectory of high-growth and will offer you regular interactions with upper-management and clear opportunities for career advancement. You will be responsible for managing a team that delivers some of our most strategic technical projects, large-scale distributed systems, and collaborate with top technical leaders across AWS. Your team will innovate new software systems that are at the cutting edge of distributed database technology and have a significant bottom-line impact on the RDS business and competitive position.

A successful leader in this role will have the experience and skill needed to grow and develop teams, set a strategic vision for the future, provide the team with structure and technical guidance, and demonstrate productive communication skills with customers, partner teams, and leadership.
