The Amazon Devices team designs and engineers high-profile consumer electronics, including the best-selling Kindle family of products. We have also produced groundbreaking devices like Fire tablets, Fire TV, Amazon Dash, and Amazon Echo. What will you help us create?

SDMs at Amazon work on real world problems on a global scale, own their systems end to end and influence the direction of our technology that impacts hundreds of millions customers around the world. At Amazon an SDMs can expect to lead team(s) of highly performing individuals in the design of flexible and scalable solutions, and day-to-day operations. They will work on some of the most complex challenges in large-scale computing by utilizing your skills in data structures, algorithms, and object oriented programming.

As part of the Device Analytics Services, you will lead a team focused on building the next generation data collection system, working closely with privacy and legal to ensure you build mechanisms to automate compliance with multiple regulations around the world. We process trillions of events per day, making us one of the largest services in the devices organization.

If you feel strongly about leading a team in the development of world class software, running a high volume, large scale fleet, have experience in building distributed systems, device software, and/or wireless platform services with strict performance requirements, we'd like to talk to you.


  • 7+ years of experience working directly with engineering teams
  • Experience in partnering with product and program management teams
  • 3+ years of people management experience, managing engineers
  • Bachelor's Degree or higher in Computer Science or related field
  • 3+ years of programming experience in an object-oriented programming language such as Java, C++ or C#
  • Computer Science fundamentals in algorithms, data structures, and complexity analysis
  • Experience building highly scalable applications
  • Experience communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior management to gather requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy


  • Mobile development experience and/or strong interest in mobile development
  • Experience developing software in a UNIX/Linux environment
  • Experience taking a leading role in building complex software systems that have been successfully delivered to customers
  • Experience with distributed systems
  • Strong leadership, communication and interpersonal skills
