The Builder Tools organization within Amazon Web Services (AWS) is looking for a Software Development Manager to run the team in charge of integrating Amazon's massive distributed deployment system (Apollo) with AWS infrastructure. Our team runs the services which enable the Amazon's developer community to build cutting edge services and technologies. With it, every developer in Amazon can continuously change running Services without ever degrading the customer experience. Our scale far exceeds that of most companies on the planet.
As a Software Development Manager in our team you will have the opportunity to lead and develop your team. You will drive feature delivery through all phases of the software production cycle including design, development, testing, deployment, operation and maintenance. We own and build every aspect of our services, from UI to backend systems and databases. Because our technology plays a key role in Amazon's ability to innovate you will have the chance to productively collaborate with a very large number teams.

AWS has the most services and more features within those services, than any other cloud providerfrom infrastructure technologies like compute, storage, and databasesto emerging technologies, such as machine learning and artificial intelligence, data lakes and analytics, and Internet of Things. AWS Platform is the glue that holds the AWS ecosystem together. Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field
7+ year relevant work experience shipping commercial software
3+ year experience with Java, C#, C++ or C
5+ year experience managing direct reports
Experience with Unix family of operating systems
Experience with Ruby, Python, Perl scripting languages
Experience designing and implementing distributed systems
Experience developing and deploying cloud based applications
