Software Development Manager

Do you want to help lead the cloud revolution and build software that thrives at immense scale?

Amazon Virtual Private Cloud (Amazon VPC) is a service that lets customers launch AWS resources in a logically isolated virtual network that they define. With Amazon VPC's simple set-up, customers spend less time setting up, managing, and validating, and have more time for building the applications that run in their VPCs. While VPC has seen tremendous growth since launch we are still in the early stages of realizing its full potential.

As a Software Development Manager for VPC, you will be responsible for leading a new team of talented engineers in their mission to build and services that join disparate networking configuration data at scale. You will create and execute a roadmap that helps to realize the vision of VPC. You will define, plan, and execute on deliverables that drive game changing improvements for internal and external customers alike.

A successful candidate is experienced in leading a team of deeply technical engineers. You, the candidate, must have proven skills as a leader that delivers on business objectives, prioritizes work, and influences partner teams. You will establish goals for your teams, and focus attention on the most important inputs to drive the desired business outcomes. You know how to grow the team by hiring, investing in people, and developing talent from within. VPC operates at large scale and enable customers to build high availability systems world-wide, so a passion and discipline around operational excellence is key. Come help us make history with VPC.

Mentorship & Career Growth
Our team is dedicated to supporting new members. We have a broad mix of experience levels and tenures, and we're building an environment that celebrates knowledge sharing and mentorship. Our senior members enjoy one-on-one mentoring and thorough, but kind, code reviews.
