As a Software Development Manager, you will be responsible for technology that will help innovate and build the future of Appstore.
You will lead a highly competent team of Software Development Engineers (SDEs). As a leader, you play crucial role in building a culture of best practices to ensure that the software we build and the technical processes that we implement are quantifiable with respect to quality and always deliver the best for our customers.
The successful candidate will be passionate about building a great organization, obsessed with developers, relentlessly raises the bar on the quality of what we deliver, is able to manage a fast-paced delivery schedule and drive a high-level strategy, as well as take a hands-on approach to implementing that strategy.

Responsibilities:
  • Define the long-term vision, strategy, and goals for your teams
  • Prioritize, plan projects and features, manage partners, and track external commitments.
  • Drive continual improvements to the efficiency and flexibility of the platform while keeping an extremely high bar on customer trust, performance, and availability.
  • Foster the career development of your direct reports
  • Work closely with the team, partners, and senior leadership in establishing the vision, creating a strategy
  • Manage the day-to-day activities of the engineering team within an Agile/Scrum environment


BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • 7+ years of experience working directly with engineering teams
  • Experience in partnering with product and program management teams
  • 3+ years of people management experience, managing engineers


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Preferred qualifications
  • MS in Computer Science Experience with AWS, distributed computing, and high-volume web services Proven track record of quality software delivery Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex technical information in a clear and concise manner to a variety of audiences Capable of thinking creatively, dealing with ambiguity, and managing changing priorities Strong analytical and problem solving skills Demonstrated ability to make things happen in a fast-paced, dynamic environment A passion for people management and mentorship
