DESCRIPTION

AWS Commerce Platform Tax team is responsible for the building distributed systems that calculate Taxes for all the regions and markets where AWS has customers. In this role you will 1) drive projects to launch AWS into new regions, 2) think globally and act locally to deliver the best customer experience in any region, 3) make new region expansion repeatable, simple, and faster, and 4) deliver scalable systems/workflows to address the region specific regulatory/compliance requirements.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Computer Science or a related discipline
• 5+ years of software development experience

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Fluency with Java, C/C++, or C#
• In-depth knowledge of CS data structures and algorithms
• Strong problem solving ability and object-oriented design skills
• Experience contributing to the architecture and design (architecture, design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems
• Working knowledge of relational and NoSQL databases
• Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science
