The AWS App Mesh team is looking for software developers to join our rapidly growing team.
In 2019, the App Mesh team launched a service that enabled our customers to declaratively define how their applications are connected, operated and secured. We have built a compute agnostic service mesh that works with Kubernetes, EKS, ECS, EC2, and we plan on supporting more network resources in 2020. Our team has adopted an open product development roadmap (https://github.com/aws/aws-app-mesh-roadmap/issues), and we are committed to contributing back to open source projects that we benefit from such as Envoy. We have built our services on the same technologies and infrastructure our customers use, including AWS Fargate, AWS Lambda, and Amazon EC2. As we continue to grow our service and customers, we will be working to build new integrations, utilize more of AWS, and contribute more back to open source.
As part of the AWS App Mesh team, you will be responsible for building our core services, integrating with other AWS technologies, contributing to open source software, and partnering with other services that our customers use today. Your work will help define the terms "application networking" and "service mesh" for our industry. You will be asked to think about features, scale and security at a global AWS scale. You will have the opportunity use your passion and customer focus to work in the open with our product managers, customers, open source software maintainers, and partners to make App Mesh delightful for our customers.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or IT related technical discipline OR in place of 4 years of relevant industry software engineering experience.
• 2+ years of non-internship industry software development experience with at least one modern language such as Java, C++, C#, etc. including object-oriented design.
• 1+ years of experience contributing to the architecture and design (architecture, design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and current systems.
• Experience with designing and operating large-scale distributed systems, preferably using AWS technologies.
• Experience with application security (authentication and authorization).
• Fundamentals in networking and load balancing.
• Experience with containers and microservice architectures
