DESCRIPTION

Come join a team to work in the intersection of Machine Learning, Observability, Cloud, Big Data and Open Source!

The AWS Observability Machine Learning team produces Anomaly Detection solution that gives customers actionable visibility into the health of their applications and services by leveraging machine learning technologies. Our service continuously analyzes system and application metrics, detects and surfaces anomalies without requiring user intervention, enables AWS customers across the world to monitor and act on the dynamic nature of system and application behaviors.

We are looking for software development engineers that are passionate about building systems to deliver advanced time-series analytics features to AWS customers. AWS has a fast-paced environment where we "Work Hard, Have Fun, Make History." On a typical day, our software development engineers might deep dive to root cause a customer issue, release the latest new feature, consult with the top engineers at Amazon, or discuss new approaches to building and operating at scale. You'll be surrounded by people who are incredibly smart, passionate about observability, and believe that we are only scratching the surface of what AWS can really do to help application and service owners everywhere.

In this role you'll build systems to deliver predictive analytics solutions using machine learning techniques. You'll apply your creative and critical problem solving skills to design, build and run multi-tenant at massive scale services. Above all, you will care deeply about the customer and delight in creating simple and elegant solutions that solve our customers' biggest challenges.

Work/Life Balance
Our team puts a high value on work-life balance. It isn't about how many hours you spend at home or at work; it's about the flow you establish that brings energy to both parts of your life. We believe striking the right balance between your personal and professional life is critical to life-long happiness and fulfillment. We offer flexibility in working hours and encourage you to find your own balance between your work and personal lives.

This position involves on-call responsibilities, typically for one week every six weeks. We don't like getting paged in the middle of the night or on the weekend, so we work to ensure that our systems are fault tolerant. When we do get paged, we work together to resolve the root cause so that we don't get paged for the same issue twice.

Mentorship & Career Growth
Our team is dedicated to supporting new members. We have a broad mix of experience levels and tenures, and we're building an environment that celebrates knowledge sharing and mentorship. Our senior members enjoy one-on-one mentoring and thorough, but kind, code reviews. We care about your career growth and strive to assign projects based on what will help each team member develop into a better-rounded engineer and enable them to take on more complex tasks in the future.
