The Amazon Search team is responsible for the worldwide customer facing search features on desktops, tablets, and mobile devices everything from the moment a customer clicks into the search box to when they view and interact with search results.
The mission of Search Customer Experience (SCX) is to make shopping on Amazon delightful and effortless. We delight customers when we understand their intent and present an experience that feels customized to their shopping mission. We make shopping effortless when the experience helps customers make an informed, high confidence purchasing decision directly on Amazon with ease.
You'll have flexibility to work across the SCX Quality and Analytics teams. As an Analytics engineer, you will design and build systems that give insight into how our customers are engaging with their search results. This will help us measure impact of our existing programs and will inform future investments to make shopping on Amazon delightful and effortless. As a Search Quality engineer, you'll design and implement systems and services to measure, monitor, and improve search relevance of widgets. This improves the quality of search results world wide and helps Amazon.com customers quickly find what they're looking for.
Your work has direct and visible impact on shopping experiences of Amazon customers. You'll work with the best engineers and scientists in the area of Search and Information Retrieval.
• Programming experience with at least one modern language such as Java, C++, or C# including object-oriented design
• 1+ years of experience contributing to the architecture and design (architecture, design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and current systems.
• 2+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
• Experience with Big Data Engineering, Analytics and Machine Learning.
• Experience with distributed systems and low-latency software design.
• Experience with Amazon Web Services such as S3, EMR, Data pipeline.
