Software Development Engineer

Amazon SCOT OIH (Optimal Inventory Health) team is looking for a senior SDE as a tech leader for a talented software development team. Our team is building scalable distributed systems on top of Native AWS based on Big Data to support the rapidly growing business of Amazon, e.g. Retail Global Expansion, Prime Now, UFF, Fresh, SSD, etc. You will own the inventory disposition decisions, like markdown, deal, return, liquidation, etc. for millions of products to maximize long term free cash flow. You will work closely with senior leaders, scientists, engineers, and business teams worldwide to develop advanced mathematical and economic models and algorithms. You will utilize Amazon's massive data, sophisticated algorithms and cloud computation infrastructure (AWS) and thousands of powerful machines, and make decisions with billion dollar impact to Amazon's business. You will also become an expert in most sophisticated supply chain management in the world with deep understanding of Amazon retail business. In this role, you have the chances to improve the management of WW retail business, Grocery business, FBA business, and drive connections between the supply chain decisions and the marketing decisions across multiple organizations.

• 4+ years of professional software development experience
• 3+ years of programming experience with at least one modern language such as Java, C++, or C# including object-oriented design
• 2+ years of experience contributing to the architecture and design (architecture, design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and current systems
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or 8+ years of equivalent professional or military experience
Master's Degree in Computer Science or related discipline with 4+ years of experience; or Bachelor's Degree with 5+ years of experience.
4+ years of experience making significant individual contribution to real-world software development.
Demonstrated proficiency with an object-oriented programming language; strong object-oriented design and algorithmic analysis background.
Track record of developing engineers through various career stages and building high-performance teams.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a proven ability to present complex technical information in a clear and concise manner to a variety of audiences.
Knowledge of professional software engineering practices & best practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations
Ability to take a project from inception, requirements, development through actual launch of the project
Familiar with supply chain, optimization or machine learning.
Familiar with cloud computing
Experience building highly scalable, available, and low-latency systems
