Software Development Engineer - EC2
- Herndon, VA
The EC2 Networking team is looking for a Software Development Engineer to join our 6 person team.
We deliver some of the core EC2 network virtualization systems. Our services range from the ones responsible for metering all network usage across AWS (billions of records per hour) to low-level code delivering encrypted VPN connections, to large-scale web services allowing customers to reconfigure networks at their whim.
This is a full-stack development position, leaning towards back-end work.
Our team puts a high value on work-life balance. Due to Covid-19 situation, out team currently works from home. We generally keep core working hours from 10am to 4pm. About half of us starts the day earlier and the other half of us stay later.
This position involves on-call responsibilities, typically for two weeks every two months. We don't like getting paged in the middle of the night or on the weekend, so we work to ensure that our systems are fault tolerant. When we do get paged, we work together to resolve the root cause so that we don't get paged for the same issue twice.
