The Prime team seeks talented engineers who take great pride in both the technical and business contribution of their work. You will be given the chance to have a significant impact on our systems, our business and most importantly, our customers. As a member of the Prime team, you will work closely with the business team to design and implement new features, you will use a variety of core languages and technologies (including Java and Linux) to design and build highly scalable services in order to bring the Prime experience to a large variety of Amazon business.

We are Day 1 as we innovate and drive our upsell ads that are vended by an evolving software stack making it possible to scale to 59 countries by 2022. Our next 150MM customers will be acquired by making our upsells smarter, which requires building personalized adaptive experiences, gamification workflows, automating recurring use-cases, building machine learning models from the ground up and self service tools that drive global parity and innovation at the edge. The Vision of Prime Acquisition Technology is to own and build tech frameworks that makes it easy to plug and play Prime upsell ads everywhere making them personalized and contextual enabling customers to make a responsible decision to join Prime. This technology is aimed to be generic to surface contextual and relevant Prime upsells that highlights the right differentiator making it a "no-brainer" decision to join Prime. This upsell Ad Technology can target any customer segment and can onboard any program across Amazon driving consistency and relevancy across on-Amazon, off-Amazon and 3P locations.

We create products and distributed systems that serve Prime member, at scale, across the world. We build and own set of distributed services, systems (cohesive services working together) and Prime member experiences. These systems, services and experiences uses AWS technology, Machine learning, Data analysis and some exciting engineering that goes behind the scene. In some cases, we create software as a service solutions to support other non-Prime Amazon teams.

In Prime, you will work with teams across Amazon to reimagine how we find and introduce Prime to Amazon customers. You will be responsible for designing flexible, responsive architectures to bring Prime offers to entirely new customer segments across the globe. By integrating machine learning models, automation and cutting edge technologies, you will both update established systems and work in greenfield spaces to create self-service solutions that reduce efforts from months to days (or hours!).


• 2+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
• Programming experience with at least one modern language such as Java, C++, or C# including object-oriented design
• 1+ years of experience contributing to the architecture and design (architecture, design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and current systems.


• Computer Science fundamentals in object-oriented design
• Computer Science fundamentals in data structures
• Computer Science fundamentals in algorithm design, problem solving, and complexity analysis
• Strong, object-oriented design and coding skills (C/C++ and/or Java preferably on a UNIX or Linux platform)
• Experience with distributed (multi-tiered) systems and algorithms
• Ability to effectively articulate technical challenges and solutions
• Deal well with ambiguous/undefined problems; ability to think abstractly
