Software Development Engineer, AWS Security Assurance Engineering

DESCRIPTION

The AWS Security Assurance Engineering team is responsible for scaling AWS's ability to exceed the security and compliance expectations of our regulators, auditors, and customers globally. Our team engages directly with AWS service teams to bake security and compliance safeguards into their service offerings. We own driving highly complex security and compliance campaigns across AWS. We design and build services that stand up to the scrutiny of external regulators and inspection by AWS's most security-sensitive customers. We are a multidisciplinary team comprised of software engineers, security engineers, program managers, data engineers, and compliance specialists. As a Software Engineer on our team, you will build and own internal services that identify and monitor security/compliance-relevant attributes of key infrastructure, scale security and compliance assessments of AWS services, and expand our ability to continuously monitor key security functions. You will be part of a growing team that has a high bar for engineer excellence, minimal technical debt, new services to build, and fairly quiet pagers. You will contribute to solving complex engineering problems as well as business problems.

This position can also be located at our Seattle, WA location.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • 3+ years of professional experience developing software in Java, Python, Ruby, JavaScript, or other language
  • 2+ years of professional experience contributing to system designs and scaling new/existing solutions in a distributed, virtualized, or cloud environment.


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • BS or MS in Computer Science or related field.
  • Experience with Java, CDK, serverless, and building with AWS services
  • Experience being part of a team that implements Agile software engineering practices.
  • Meets/exceeds Amazon's leadership principles requirements for this role
  • Meets/exceeds Amazon's functional/technical depth and complexity for this role
