We are looking for an experienced and seasoned Senior Software Development Engineer to help the team take Marketplace to the next level. As a Senior Software Development Engineer on the team you will own significant portions of the product and will have significant influence on our strategy by helping define the next wave of product features and system architecture. The systems are complex and there are huge opportunities to work at all levels from the front end user experience to a set of robust backend APIs and services and everything in between. You're someone who thrives on solving complex distributed computing challenges, is customer obsessed, can mentor and serve as a role model for other engineers on the team and is passionate about building quality software that raises the operational excellence of the organization. You possess strong communication skills since at AWS Marketplace you'll have several opportunities to meet and interact with customers (both buyers and sellers) directly!
The ideal candidate will have a demonstrable track record of success delivering new features or products, strong knowledge of web services and protocols and an in-depth knowledge of systems architectures. Experience with asynchronous workflow, big-data, machine learning and AWS technologies is a plus.

• 5+ years of professional software development experience.
• 5+ years of experience contributing to the architecture and design (architecture, design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and current systems.
• Expertise in Distributed Computing concepts and building scalable architectures.
• 7+ years of industry experience.
• 3+ years software development experience.
• Expertise in professional software engineering best practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control.
• Sound understanding of DevOps.
• Strong sense of ownership, urgency, and drive.
• Sharp analytical abilities and proven skills having delivered results.
• Demonstrated leadership abilities in an engineering environment in driving operational excellence and best practices.
• Demonstrated ability to mentor junior software engineers or software developers in all aspects of their engineering duties.
• Passion for building , global, complex systems to solve problems with proven ability to deliver high quality software.
