Software Development Engineer, Aws Lambda

2 months agoSeattle, WA

DESCRIPTION

AWS Lambda is a fast growing service that is becoming the default compute infrastructure for a wide range of cloud applications.

The Placement team owns placing millions of customer functions on physical EC2 fleets backing Lambda. We take into account key parameters such as function requirements, historical performance, real time load and status of compute nodes etc. to make efficient placement decisions. This is a unique problem space that touches distributed systems and big data, and directly influences Lambda's CapEx needs, utilization and profitability.

In addition, we work on solving highly impactful scale, availability and latency challenges of running a tier-1 service in the critical path of Lambda's dataplane.

The team is growing rapidly and is looking for talented software engineers who can help us create the massive scale and powerful new programming paradigms that our customers need to be successful. If you're excited about cloud computing, want to help lead from the innovative edge, and have deep expertise in distributed system design, then join us in making Lambda the most successful computing platform on the planet!

Job location is Seattle, WA. Relocation assistance available.
