AWS Lambda, at the heart of the Serverless movement, is a fast growing service that is becoming the default compute infrastructure for a wide range of applications (https://aws.amazon.com/lambda). Lambda functions offer customer a "serverless" way to create applications, an approach that lets customers turn business logic and application code into scalable, fault-tolerant production systems without requiring every developer to become an expert in distributed systems, deployment technologies, and infrastructure management.
Our team owns the software and services that enable Lambda to securely and efficiently execute customer provided code across tens of millions of containers using AWS Firecracker microVM architecture. These containers are densely packed on EC2 instances, and securely connected to other AWS services such as S3, DynamoDB, and Kinesis. Lightweight containers constantly shift resources between them and handle trillions of transactions every day.
We are seeking experienced software development engineers who can help us build the next generation of AWS Lambda. You will be responsible for translating business and functional requirements into concrete deliverables with the architecture, design, development, testing, and deployment of highly scalable distributed services. You will get the opportunity to use modern programming languages like Go and Python, and cutting edge virtualization like Firecracker to push the boundaries of serverless computing in the cloud.
You'll thrive in this role if you are interested in low latency request processing, scalable and fault tolerant distributed systems, containers, and Linux OS. You are capable in one or more programming languages and open to learning new ones. You have a proven record of delivering highly operable and maintainable software on time. You have relentlessly high standards, and drive engineering best practices while constantly looking for ways to make the systems you own better. You will navigate the competing priorities of delivering extremely lightweight services, embracing modern languages and cloud technologies.
Our company credo is "Work hard. Have fun. Make history". The right candidate will love what they do and instinctively know how to make work fun.
If you're excited about serverless cloud computing, then join us in making Lambda the most successful computing platform on the planet.
