We are seeking an experienced Software Development Engineer to help start a new program that will unlock a large business opportunity in Europe. About International Technologies Teams in Madrid
The Deals & Discounts team is responsible of building the software and machine learning models to surface high quality deals to the Amazon customers worldwide across the site. The team, mainly located in Madrid Technical Hub, comprises Software Developer and ML Engineers, Applied Scientists, Technical Product Managers and UX Designers who are experts on several areas of ranking & recommendations systems as well as customer experience. The Search team is responsible of building the software and solutions to surface high quality user interface, innovative features and personalization for the Amazon customers worldwide across the site.
The team, mainly located in Madrid Technical Hub, comprises Software Developer Engineers, Technical Product Managers and UX Designers who are experts on several areas of user interface, innovative components and personalization of the search results as well as customer experience. Are you interested on designing Amazon's search experience with us?

New Program. This team spans a deep technology stack, from front-end mobile apps and website, to back-end web services and third-party integrations, and touches multiple phases of the customer journey. You will partner closely with our product managers, technical program managers, and UX designers, as well as business stakeholders and partner technical teams across Europe and US.

Key Job Responsibilities
We are looking for software developer engineers who are passionate to solve highly ambiguous and challenging problems at global scale. You will be responsible for major components of the team, you will design, develop, deliver and support a variety of software applications in collaboration with a variety of roles and partner teams around the world. You will influence technical direction, drive operational excellence best practices and maintain quality on team deliverables. You will also have the opportunity to learn from high-performing software engineering teams and mentor junior members.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Fluency in English is required (no additional languages required).
  • Programming experience with at least one modern language such as Java, C++, C#, JavaScript or Python including object-oriented design.
  • Experience contributing to the architecture and design (architecture, design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and current systems.
  • Eager to solve problems in large scale environments and a clear commitment to making Amazon a great place to work
