Software Development Engineer

The AWS Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2) Enterprise team is looking for engineers to help us define and build the future of computing. You will play a critical role in design and implementation of a strategic product for Amazon AWS to help increase cloud adoption. You will work closely with pre-market Amazon technologies, and you will be developing recommendation services capable of providing prescriptive guidance to customers based on their running portfolio of applications. The systems you build will push the boundaries for scale, availability, and performance, while maintaining the highest standards for security and operational excellence. You stand to gain in terms of owning and building the entire product, learning from customer interaction, and working in a collaborative environment with committed senior and principal engineers.

• 2+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
• Programming experience with at least one modern language such as Java, C++, or C# including object-oriented design
• 1+ years of experience contributing to the architecture and design (architecture, design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and current systems.
• BS in CS/EE or related field with 5+ years of experience or MS in CS/EE with 3+ years of experience.
• Solid hands-on development experience in Java or C#.
• Proven track record of leading the delivery of high-quality systems.
• Exposure to web services or REST services, and web development.


• Sharp analytical abilities and proven design skills. Comfortable in fast-paced, start-up like development environments.
• Experience architecting large-scale distributed systems and a passion for building and operating highly-available services.
• Experience in full-stack development using J2EE technologies is a plus.
• Experience in web development with HTML5, JQuery, React.
• Strong, object-oriented design and coding skills.
