Amazon

Software Development Engineer

Seattle, WA

DESCRIPTION

If you have a deep interest in learning cloud computing and want to build robust distributed systems that thousands of customers rely on, join us in making Elastic Beanstalk the best application deployment and management solution for AWS.

Elastic Beanstalk has a global presence across more than 25 AWS regions. We make heavy investments in automation and scalable, distributed systems. We work with many different customers who are looking for both simplicity and power.

We are seeking a software development engineer to work on major Elastic Beanstalk features, APIs, orchestration engines, service integrations, and application-centric health monitoring.

As part of the team, you will:

  • Get to work with a wide array of technologies and AWS services. There is always something new to learn.
  • Build services and tooling which allow Elastic Beanstalk customers to deploy mission critical applications quickly and safely.
  • Use the best technologies and tools available to build services that will provide an application centered view rather than an infrastructure focused view of the cloud.
  • Work with multiple teams within AWS and Amazon to build solutions that create value to them and their customers using Elastic Beanstalk.

Work/Life Balance
Our team puts a high value on work-life balance. It isn't about how many hours you spend at home or at work; it's about the flow you establish that brings energy to both parts of your life. We believe striking the right balance between your personal and professional life is critical to life-long happiness and fulfillment. We offer flexibility in working hours and encourage you to find your own balance between your work and personal lives.
This position involves on-call responsibilities, typically for one week every two months. We don't like getting paged in the middle of the night or on the weekend, so we work to ensure that our systems are fault tolerant. Mentorship & Career Growth
Our team is dedicated to supporting new members. We have a broad mix of experience levels and tenures, and we're building an environment that celebrates knowledge sharing and mentorship. Our senior members enjoy one-on-one mentoring and thorough, but kind, code reviews.
