Checkout Engineering Excellence (EE) team seeks full-stack software development engineers to solve problems because of the unprecedented growth of Checkout!

In 2020, Checkout supported contribution by 350+ partner teams, and nearly 700 distinct features (a whooping 62% YoY increase), which is expected to keep increasing, thanks to the fast growth of Amazon! In Checkout EE team, we offer you challenging and impactful opportunities to accelerate these customer-facing innovations in Checkout from our own development teams and partner teams by automating and optimizing our processes and systems.

The ideal candidate will have excellent technical design, problem solving and communication skills and be comfortable interacting with technical and non-technical stakeholders at all levels. In addition, the ability to work backwards and think from a customer perspective is crucial.

• Programming experience with at least one modern language such as Java, C++, or C# including object-oriented design
• 1+ years of experience contributing to the architecture and design (architecture, design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and current systems.
• 2+ years of non-internship professional software development experience


• Experience designing of new and/or current software systems and services
• Ideal candidate will demonstrate that they can proactively and continually improve their level of knowledge about Amazon's business and relevant technologies, and use this knowledge to deliver high quality, accurate software deliverables.
• Strong deductive and root cause analysis skills.
• Experience with large systems and re-designing and improving them.
• Understanding of test driven development and the ability to identify useful vs useless tests.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, or equivalent knowledge and skills and industry experience.
