Come help change the way the world sees the Cloud!
The AWS CloudWatch and X-Ray team is searching for a passionate and talented technical leader to help us grow the monitoring system that is the eyes and ears of Amazon Web Services. This role offers the opportunity to engage with a wide spectrum of internal service teams to drive initiatives in areas including, but not limited to infrastructure management and capacity optimization. Technical Program Managers on the CloudWatch and X-Ray team run large scale programs, partnering with engineering teams and leaders to ensure these programs are run effectively and efficiently. From Day 1, Technical Program Managers are given ownership of large program/projects/products, autonomy to think strategically and make data driven decisions, the ability to deliver significant impact to the customer experience and the business, and the support of their fellow teammates and colleagues.
You bring experience in defining products/programs and effectively communicating strategic initiatives to business leaders. You are able to collaborate with business, engineering, and operations teams.
You live and breathe data. You are data driven and are passionate about finding root causes and trends. You use data to support your ideas, drive actionable outcomes, and identify opportunities for impact across Amazon.
You bring a unique combination of business and technical skills. You provide the right amount of information and insights to business teams and are also able to dive deep to have a thorough understanding of the product catalog, current programs, and various data pathologies.
You are comfortable juggling managing priorities and handling ambiguity. You thrive in an agile and fast-paced environment.
You are willing to "get your hands dirty" in a start-up environment to act as a change agent and create new applications, tools, processes, and reports as needed.
We are a team of enthusiastic technical program managers who have diverse backgrounds but are all passionate about creating an exceptional customer experience by delivering large scale programs across our CloudWatch and X-Ray teams.
We are knowledge-sharers who enjoy learning from each other and the teams that we support. New and unique perspectives are always welcome!
Though we have support from our colleagues and peers, we primarily follow a single-threaded owner model, where we own the programs that we drive.
Outside of work, we have a myriad of hobbies that cover everything from building computers, exploring new foods, and fly-fishing.
For the most part, our prime working hours are 8am PST to 5pm PST, though we are flexible for those with specific scheduling needs, as we understand the same schedule doesn't always work for everyone. (We've also been known to take off early every now and then, particularly on Fridays.)
Inclusive Team Culture
Here at AWS, we embrace our differences. We are committed to furthering our culture of inclusion. We have ten employee-led affinity groups, reaching 40,000 employees in over 190 chapters globally. We have innovative benefit offerings, and host annual and ongoing learning experiences, including our Conversations on Race and Ethnicity (CORE) and AmazeCon (gender diversity) conferences. Amazon's culture of inclusion is reinforced within our 14 Leadership Principles, which remind team members to seek diverse perspectives, learn and be curious, and earn trust.
Our team puts a high value on work-life balance. It isn't about how many hours you spend at home or at work; it's about the flow you establish that brings energy to both parts of your life. We believe striking the right balance between your personal and professional life is critical to life-long happiness and fulfillment. We offer flexibility in working hours and encourage you to find your own balance between your work and personal lives.
Mentorship & Career Growth
Our team is dedicated to supporting new members. We have a broad mix of experience levels and tenures, and we're building an environment that celebrates knowledge sharing and mentorship. Our senior members enjoy one-on-one mentoring and thorough, but kind, code reviews. We care about your career growth and strive to assign projects based on what will help each team member develop into a better-rounded engineer and enable them to take on more complex tasks in the future.
