DESCRIPTION

The AWS Enterprise Network enables the connectivity needs for hundreds of thousands of Amazon employees and AWS data center corporate network customers around the world. This organization develops and operates the platform that Amazon's businesses rely on to grow and scale by leveraging AWS Cloud Infrastructure where-ever possible.

The Enterprise Network Software and Systems team's mission is to maximize network availability and eliminate work required by humans. We build and own: telemetry systems that can monitor, alert and remediate networking events; foundational services that support network devices (think ingestion and enrichment of millions of logs per minute) at scale; and systems that allow us to rapidly configure, deploy and scale our network. We are looking for an exceptional Sr. SysDev Engineer who is passionate about cloud computing and reshaping customer experiences at scale.

The pay range for this position in New Jersey and Colorado is $151,000 - $204,000 (yr); however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. A sign-on bonus and restricted stock units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience of 3 years of work experience for every 1 year of education
  • 3+ years of experience in Systems or Software development
  • 2+ years of experience in scripting/programming with one or more of Python, Perl, Ruby, Shell, Java, etc.
  • 2+ years of experience in Linux or other Unix operating systems.


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 6+ years professional experience in Systems or Software development
  • In depth knowledge of TCP/IP networking, architecture and core technologies. Having a background in Networking protocols is a plus
  • Proficiency in, at least, one modern programming language such as C, C++, C#, Java, or Python
  • Depth in Operating System Fundamentals
  • In-depth knowledge of AWS Products, DevOps patterns, and mature CICD processes.
  • Excellent knowledge of server hardware and software troubleshooting.
  • Experience taking a leading role in building and managing complex software systems that have been successfully delivered to customers
  • Ability to work well under pressure with minimal supervision, and keep up with a fast moving environment via effective prioritization and time management.

  • Meets/exceeds Amazon's functional/technical depth and complexity for this role
• The pay range for this position in Colorado is $150,000 - 177,000 (yr.); however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
